New 2021 Kia Stinger facelift revealed with new look and tech

The Kia Stinger gets a subtle new look as part of a facelift for 2021

The Kia Stinger has been updated with a handful of design tweaks and few new optional extras. The revised model will go on sale in the UK early next year – and prices will remain broadly similar to the outgoing model, starting £41,000 for the range-topping GT-S variant.

Styling revisions include new LED headlamps, reworked daytime running lights, a fresh pair of LED tail lights and an updated version of the company’s trademark ‘tiger nose’ radiator grille. UK models will also wear different badges to the car in these images, as this the model shown is a Korea-spec car.

Buyers can also choose from a handful of new cosmetic optional extras, including a larger-bore quad-exit exhaust system, an aggressive rear diffuser and two new alloy wheel designs in either 18-inch or 19-inch diameters. A new Dark Package will also swap both of these new additions for gloss black replacements.

The Kia Stinger’s cabin design is largely unchanged over the outgoing model. Buyers get the same seven-inch digital instrument cluster, standard sport seats and dashboard layout. However, there’s some new chrome detailing for the steering wheel, some new gloss black trim for the dashboard, a new frameless rear-view mirror and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment system.

Buyers will also receive a new, 64-colour, customisable ambient lighting system and a choice of new interior finishes, including Saturn Black, Red, Beige and Dark Brown. Depending on the specification, Kia also offers new contrasting stitching for the dashboard and door cards.

Kia has also ditched the Stinger’s lowly 244bhp 2.0-litre petrol and 197bhp 2.2-litre diesel engines as part of the update. This means the only engine on offer now is the twin-turbocharged 3.3-litre V6 engine found in the flagship GT-S model, which should have the same 365bhp and 510Nm of torque as the pre-facelift model.
