ABT's 434-HP Audi RS Q3 Is a Sweet Piece of Forbidden Fruit
ABT’s upgrades make this compact crossover SUV even more enticing.
The Audi RS Q3 has way too much power for its own good in standard guise—not that we're ones to complain. Now, ABT is cranking up the heat with an even faster, more powerful version of the sporty compact crossover SUV.
The German tuning company infuses an extra 40 hp into Audi's turbocharged five-cylinder engine, which gives the RS Q3 a total of 434 horsepower. Torque comes in at 354 pound-feet, an increase of 30 lb-ft from the standard car. ABT also unleashes a greater top speed of 177 miles per hour. Normally, RS Q3 models top out at 155 mph, or 174 mph when equipped with an optional package. All-wheel-drive, of course, is standard.
Despite the performance upgrades, the RS Q3 from ABT looks mostly the same as the standard model. Four unique wheel designs are available, though, including 20-inch and 21-inch choices. The model pictured here features 20-inch five-spoke black and silver aluminum alloy wheels that cover blue brake calipers.
Unfortunately, Audi's fastest and sportiest compact crossover SUV is not available in the United States, which arguably makes it even more appealing to our eyes (forbidden fruit and whatnot), especially when it's painted in Kyalami Green. The RS Q3 comes in a more traditional crossover body style, as well as in a racier Sportback model. Regardless, both models are mechanically identical.
The RS Q3 is one of many new RS models in Audi's lineup. Other delectable creations include the RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback, both of which are available in the U.S. The new 2021 Audi RS 5 Coupe and Sportback arrive in the U.S. later this year, too. Meanwhile, ABT has been hard at work tuning the RS 4 to make 523 hp, as well as the limited-edition RS 6-R that produces a wild 690 hp.
