2018 Dodge Durango SRT is a tempting proposition with its starting price of $64,090

If you’ve been looking for a striking three-row SUV that also has enough power to give you the pleasure that you want, look no further as the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is here. It does not have the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that the Hellcat offers, but it does come with a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 that produces 475 horsepower and 470 pound feet of torque. Now, that’s probably the most powerful 3-row SUV we have heard of.
With this engine, the Durango SRT is capable of hitting 0-60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds, and has a quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds. That is very impressive for an SUV that weighs a lot.
The Durango SRT will have a set of 20 inch wheels, Brembo brakes, quad-exhaust tips, Bilstein dampers, and an all-wheel drive system. There will be a driving mode selector which includes seven settings like sport mode. In this mode, shift times of the 8-speed auto can be reduced by up to 50 percent, and can also split torque 35:65 front to rear.
Moving into the Durango SRT’s interior, the cabin is treated with a combination of leather and suede as a standard, but customers can opt for a special red leather and carbon fiber dash if they prefer that. The driver gets a flat bottomed steering wheel, shifter paddles and floor mats from the SRT trim, while passengers on the first two rows will get heated seats for the colder months.
Dodge Durango SRT will be available in several colours including: B5 Blue, Bruiser Gray Clear Coat, Dark Black Clear Coat, White Knuckle, Red Pearl and some others.
The muscle SUV seats seven passengers in three rows. In addition, it is strong enough to tow 8,700 pounds. Tim Kuniskis of Fiat Chrysler said that the 2018 Durango SRT is “America’s fastest, most powerful and most capable three-row SUV”. He adds that the said model is like the offspring of a Durango SRT and the Charger SRT.
Many of us know what the Durango SRT is capable of but it’s only now that the pricing has been released. Well, Dodge had just announced that it will be priced from $62,995, plus another $1,095 for destination costs - so that’s a total of $64,090. It isn’t inexpensive, but with all the equipment, space and power you’ll get, it is actually quite reasonable. Also, this price comes with a 1-day session at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Arizona.
The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT will be in showrooms by the end of 2017. It will most likely rival Jeep’s new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2017.
