Posaidon-tuned Mercedes-AMG E63 S is crazy powerful with 1,090 hp

This Mercedes-AMG E63 S may look like the previous generation model in the range topping S-trim, but when you drive it, you’ll know that it is far more superior. This is because the difference comes mainly from under the hood. This originally came with a biturbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that generates 585 horsepower, which is already quite powerful.
However, German aftermarket specialists Posaidon even got to push the already powerful car, to its maximum. It is now equipped with a 6.5-liter V8 engine that carries out 1,090 horsepower and 550 Newton-metres (406 pound-feet) more torque than the original engine, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. In fact, the tuners had to tweak the transmission and electronically limit the engine torque to ensure reliability. Initially, the untouched Mercedes-AMG E63 S with the V8 engine generated 1,350 Newton-metres (996 pound-feet) of torque. In this case, the speed restriction has become quite essential.
Naturally, hardware changes like upgrading the engine to 6.5 liters and boosting the turbochargers by increasing the boost pressure, with a new higher-capacity intercooler will make a car perform better. The new V8 also gets a stainless steel sports exhaust system, giving it a better soundtrack. An ECU remap was also required for the upgraded internals.
We won’t be very specific, but apart from the upgraded engine, the German tuner also played with the car’s suspension. It was also given a new set of original AMG wheels. Other than that, the speedometer has been upgraded so it could reach a maximum of 380 kilometers per hour, as opposed to the standard that had a limit of 320 kilometers per hour.
We may have heard of the hardware changes that the model got, however, we have not gotten details on how this car performs. But considering what has been added to the sedan, we can assume that it will be quicker and overall more impressive compared to the top of the line previous generation model, which could reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a standstill in only 3.6 seconds, and continue to a top speed of 186 mph (300 mph).
Having said that, this Posaidon-tuned Mercedes-AMG E63 S is definitely faster than the Bugatti Veyron. If you find that a four-digit horsepower might be too much for you to handle, Poseidon offers power kits that aren’t as crazy as this one - they offer 850 horsepower and 920 horsepower kits too.

Wolf in Sheep’s clothing: Up to 1,090 hp for the Mercedes-AMG E63 S

Cars with more than 800 hp usually come packaged as spectacular mid-engine supercars with price tags to match. However, aftermarket-tuning companies like Mercedes specialists Posaidon offer conversions that can elevate forced aspirated AMG models to this rarefied level.
A good example of such a conversion is the Posaidon E63 RS 850+, whose blank canvas is the W212 series Mercedes-AMG E63 S. This outwardly
Understated four-door saloon that comes from the factory with an already powerful 585 hp M157 Biturbo V8 in its S variant is now given the potential to strike fear into the hearts of Ferrari and Lamborghini drivers on the autobahn.
The two upgrade turbochargers efficiency is further improved with larger charge air intercooler capacity, with the resulting lower intake temperatures allowing higher boost pressures. In combination with the three-inch diameter stainless steel sports exhaust with free-flow metal catalytic convertor that lowers backpressure, the resulting lower engine working temperatures benefit both power and reliability. The final flourish is a comprehensive ECU remap.
The dyno sheet for the E63 RS 850+ registers an impressive 920 hp, accompanied by a massive maximum torque of 1,350 Nm, the latter electronically limited.
The 7-speed AMG gearbox was mechanically upgraded to handle the increased load, while both front and rear axles feature new locking differentials rated for 1,500 Nm of torque.
That however, is not the end of the story, and if you think that 920 hp is still not enough, then Posaidon might be able to tempt you with their 1,090 hp version of the E63 RS 850+! To achieve this Bugatti Veyron beating output, the V8 undergoes an additional displacement bump from 5.5 litre to 6.2 and 6.5 litres, respectively.
So that the chassis can handle major league supercar levels of power, the E63 RS 850+ receives lower, uprated coil-over suspension in front, while the factory rear air suspension is lowered using the appropriate electronic protocols.
To maximise mechanical grip, Posaidon installed large original AMG wheels. These are the polished ten-spoke forged alloys in 9.0x19-inch and 10.0x20-inch sizes front and rear respectively, shod with 255/35ZR19 and 295/25ZR20 Continental rubber.
The significantly improved performance required Posaidon to install a 380 km/h speedometer in their E63 RS 850+, and further interior upgrades are a line of code that allows the TV function of the infotainment system to be used on the move, and a speed camera position update.
