Jeep Rolls Out the Wrangler Whitecap, the Second of 12 Special Editions to Commemorate its 85th Anniversary

The second of twelve special editions of the Jeep Wrangler is the Whitecap, a retro-inspired appearance package that will be available on Sahara and Rubicon trim levels.

This model features a white roof and a white grille, like the CJ Universal of the 50s and 60s.

To celebrate its 85th anniversary, Jeep will unveil twelve special editions over the course of a year, with the first two having already made their debut.

After the Wrangler 392 Moab launched last month, the automaker has unveiled the Wrangler Whitecap earlier today.

Inspired by the CJ Universal of the 1950s and 1960s, this special edition stands out with a bright white hardtop roof and a white grille. This is paired with a white “1941” side strip decal.

Available on the Sahara and Rubicon trim levels, this package also includes a hood decal on the latter and an optional white power convertible top.

All regular Wrangler paint colours can be paired with the Whitecap package, which can also come with either the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 3.6L Pentastar V6.

According to Bob Broderdorf, CEO of the Jeep brand, the Wrangler Whitecap “ honours Jeep brand heritage while introducing a striking two-tone look that turns heads on any trail. Just like every model in the series, Whitecap is designed to stand out—a true tip of the hat to the brand’s legendary legacy”.

Canadian pricing will be released in the coming weeks, but we already know the package will cost $495 on the Rubicon X, $2,690 on the Sahara (including the hardtop) and $3,185 on the Rubicon (including body-colour fender flares).

Since the “Wrangler Buzz” series will include twelve special editions, and given that the first two were released in November and December, we can expect the next one to break cover next month.
