Lagonda Will Be Reborn In The Shape Of This Futuristic Electric SUV
The classic British luxury car maker will mark its return in extremely 21st century style with a battery-powered SUV based on a radically different body shape
Aston Martin-owned luxury brand Lagonda has confirmed an SUV as the first car it’s working on. The company just released a teaser showing, essentially, the Lagonda Vision concept with copious ride height.
Pencilled-in for a 2021 launch, it’s also going to be the first luxury SUV to be driven solely by batteries. Lagonda is set to specialise in electric mobility for the rich – although some slightly less expensive models might come along in due course.
Aston Martin’s President and CEO, Dr Andy Palmer, said:
“In reviving one of the most iconic names in motoring we have created a unique opportunity. One that allows us to cast aside an inherited 20th century approach and instead design cars around 21st century demands and desires.“The Lagonda SUV is the first of its kind: a spacious, high-performance 4x4 that successfully reconciles a love of technology, luxury and style.”
