Lewis Hamilton is selling his Mercedes-Maybach S600

Today, we know that celebrity-owned cars aren’t really the most affordable second hand models we could get. But at the same, there are a lot of fans out there who are willing to do anything to get up close with their idols, and for some of them, that means spending more. Wouldn’t you want to buy a car once raced or driven by Michael Fassbender? Well, if you could afford it, why not?
In fact, many celebrity-owned cars have been put up for sale before, including Daniel Craig’s one-off Aston Martin Vanquish. There’s also Elvis Presley’s 1971 Mercedes Benz 280SEL. That’s not all. Even Russia’s leader Putin’s 1995 Mercedes Benz S Class S600 Pullman Guard was once up for sale with a $1,351,740 price tag. We assume this had been purchased already since the ad for it is gone.
But at the time of this writing, there is one high-profile car that really caught our attention. This car had been owned by reigning Formula 1 champion, Lewis Hamilton. It is a 2015 Mercedes-Maybach S600 luxury sedan and its ad is currently up on British used cars listings site, autotrader.co.uk.
What makes this one stand out is also the fact that the price is not a rip-off, unlike that of Putin’s car that had such a hefty price tag. The Mercedes Maybach S600 luxury sedan is currently being sold at $142,350 (£104,990), a reasonable price.
To make things even better, the S600 is fresh, which really is not a surprise to us. In fact, it is unlikely that the four time world champion would race this car on the streets, because the car had been equipped with lazy boy rear seats. We could say that this particular S600 is one of the most well maintained S-Class units in the world. We are all aware that the owner drives for Mercedes and so we doubt that the company would allow their champion to drive a poorly unmaintained car.
Speaking of the car’s current state, it only has 27,500 miles on its odometer. Therefore, Hamilton’s pre loved Mercedes Maybach S600 is pretty much a bargain, so whoever gets their hands on this car is going to be one lucky guy.
Having said all that, you are probably wondering why this car was not priced a little higher. Well, the catch here would be that the car is in right-hand configuration since it is from the UK. So you might have to spend more to have it configured to a left hand drive if that’s an issue.
