2018 Nissan Murano SUV offers good value with plenty of new features for slight price hike
Nissan this week has announced more details regarding its 2018 Murano SUV including list of prices for each trim level. With a starting price of $30,550 for the entry level S, which is more expensive than the previous model by $810, the Nissan Murano nevertheless introduces a range of new updates and techs for safety.
Both intelligent forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are equipped on all variants. Previously, these two safety features were only available as standard on the higher end trims. The SV level trim has been added with rear cross traffic alert and blind spot warning while the SL level trim and the SV Premium are now equipped with intelligent cruise control.
Nissan apparently has put aside its ProPilot Assist technology on the latest Murano but instead will be offering the same on the new Nissan Rouge as an option.
Inside, the Murano SUV comes with a newly designed center console with easier access plus better storage capacity. All trim levels have been integrated with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM (via subscription) while NissanConnect backs up the navigation system along with an 8-inch multi-touch color display.
At the rear, the new SUV now houses a power lift gate for both SL and Platinum level trims while the Platinum also adds a dual panel moonroof into its standard features. The SL trim level can be had with a moonroof package as well while the SL Midnight Edition has additional content. The Premium package meanwhile has been added with a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels in Gun Metal finish along with heated side mirrors, heated front seats and Bose audio system with 11 speakers.
Despite the new update, all SUV variants are powered with the usual 260hp (193kW) 3.5-liter V6 engine and mated to an advanced Xtronic transmission. An additional $1,600 applies to those who want to avail the all-wheel drive which is offered on all grade levels.
The following will provide a more detailed breakdown of the price for each level variant; starting from the most expensive down to the least expensive grade. The Murano Platinum AWD has a price of $43,580 and is followed by the Murano Platinum FWD that costs $41,980 and SL AWD that’s priced at $39,850. The SL FWD will cost you about $38,250 while the SV AWD is priced lower at $35,450. The rest of the grades go for the price of $33,850 (for the SV FWD), $32,150 (for the S AWD) and $30,550 (for the S FWD) or its base model as mentioned earlier.
