2018 Aston Martin Vantage rendered as a roadster looks amazing

Have you ever thought about whether Aston Martin would come out with a convertible version of its new 2018 Vantage? At this juncture, no one really knows what the future holds for this model. But we can always hope. Fortunately, there are artists who have the same desire. We all but gasped at what Nikita Aksyonov wants for a possible Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.

It was just the other day when the automaker released the coupe, and already, we have a rendering of it here. And one thing we would say is that the rendered roadster looks just like the coupe, which is a great thing. Aksyonov did not give it a fixed roof, but instead, it will be getting a hard rear deck with a cowled tonneau cover, similar to that of the outgoing Vantage Roadster.

So far, Aston Martin has not mentioned anything about the convertible, when it comes to its release date. However, it took the automaker quite some time (around a year and a half) to follow the new DB11 coupe with the DB11 Volante convertible. So if there will be an actual roadster comes to the market in the near future, we are guessing that it will not be the only variant of the new Vantage, and that there will be others to follow.

The current Vantage went through a long time of production, and I mean over 12 years. And within that time frame, it came out with so many variants that we could not even remember how many of them there are - these models range from having a V8 engine to a V12 that have been tuned differently, with fixed roofs or convertibles. Some of these variants even include extremely lightweight models that are made of carbon fiber.

Since we are talking about the newly unveiled Vantage, it would be important to know some of the numbers involved. In only a few days, the automaker has already sold out almost all of its production capacity for next year. Mind you that each one of the luxury sports car comes with a $150,000 price tag.

Under the hood of the hand-built Vantage is a 4-liter V8 engine. This enables it to produce 500 horsepower that can reach a maximum speed of 195 miles per hour. The Vantage’s predatory low stance was mainly inspired by the Vulcan race car.

Andy Palmer, Chief Executive Officer of Aston Martin said in an interview that 80 percent of private customers have already bought the vehicle only a few days after its release. This interview was held a day before the company reported their fourth straight profitable quarter. He also mentioned that the models will be scheduled to arrive in the second quarter of 2018.
