X-Tomi imagines production version of BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe
BMW has just unveiled the new BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This concept vehicle serves as the precursor model for the upcoming new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and the BMW M8 Gran Coupe, providing a glimpse of how these models could look like.
Nonetheless, concept models are usually more aggressive and more dramatic in terms of design compared to the production model. Thus, when BMW M8 Gran Coupe becomes a reality, it is expected to be a subtle version of the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe. To help us imagine how the BMW M8 Gran Coupe might actually look like when it comes to life, X-Tomi Design has created a rendering of the production model.
X-Tomi Design made sure that the rendered BMW M8 Gran Coupe doesn’t stray away too much from the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe in terms of exterior looks. The rendered M8 Gran Coupe by X-Tomi Design features a front end defined by a slightly taller grille.
This effectively makes the nose of the rendered car blunter in shape, as compared to the sharp nose of the concept. However, the lower front fascia of the rendered M8 Gran Coupe features a similar design to that of the concept, still sporting three larger apertures and smaller inlets at the corners.
When viewed from its profile, the rendered M8 Gran Coupe reveals a taller roof, which indicates that the car offers more headroom for its occupant. But the taller roof gives the rendered M8 Gran Coupe a more roundish look, which contrasts with the sleek appearance of the car. Likewise, the transition between the roof and tail is less smooth on the rendered M8 Gran Coupe than on the Concept M8 Gran Coupe.
On the rear end, the rendered version of the M8 Gran Coupe doesn’t reveal this part of the car. Nonetheless, it is safe to say that the BMW wouldn’t dare adopt the dark rear lights of the Concept M8 Gran Coupe. This means that the production M8 Gran Coupe is highly likely to feature a more conventional rear light design that its current models employs, with the lighting elements in red, amber, and white. Likewise, the production M8 Gran Coupe would have shallower outlets at its rear wheels.
As unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the new BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe features a front end with a muscular, precisely contoured bonnet and a sharp nose defined by radiator grille kidneys dropping.
The kidney grille -- bordered by a gold-colored surround – is flanked by highly positioned headlights employing the lighting technology from the M8 GTE endurance racer. Its Salève Vert finish is complemented by golden-colored details like the signature M gills, wheel rims, window graphic, gold-colored brakes and the M twin exhaust tailpipes.
