You may now pre-order a Polestar 1 for only $2500
Have you been imagining yourself driving a Polestar 1? If you have, now is the time for you to pre-order the 600 horsepower (447 kilowatt) hybrid coupe before it arrives in showrooms in 2019. A couple of days ago, the automaker decided to begin taking orders for interested buyers in exactly 18 countries including the United States, United Kingdon, China, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Norway, the Netherlands, and Italy.
For one to get a reservation slot, a $2,500 (2,500 euros or 20,000 yen) deposit must be made, and the great thing about this is that it is refundable.
Since the Polestar 1 made its debut in the public, the company found out that around 7,000 people were interested in owning one of these, and this idea encouraged the automaker even more, according to Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. This is what motivated them to take orders this early, and soon they will be taking the next step towards delivering this beautiful car to their first batch of customers.
If you think about it, $2,500 is not that huge of an amount for a deposit. While the automaker has not released an MSRP for the Polestar 1, we expect the model to have a price range of about $150,000 up to $177,000. Now, that sounds like a lot but you are sure to get your money’s worth in terms of design, features, and performance.
The Polestar 1 boasts a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that works with two electric motors, which has a total output of 600 horsepower and 738 pound feet (1,000 Newton metres) of torque. It runs on pure electric power, and has the ability to reach a range of 93 miles (150 kilometers). So far, that is the best electric range of any production hybrid out there.
Alongside the Polestar 1, a Polestar 2 is reportedly being developed. It is set to join the first model soon. The second model will be a fully electric sedan, while a third model, the Polestar 3, will be a fully electric SUV. The current Polestar 1 will be the first and only option that will have a gas engine, because all future Polestar products will exclusively be electric powered.
As mentioned earlier, if you would like to be one of the first owners of the Polestar 1, you could already get a reservation slot for it, by simply going through the pre ordering process.
