Zenvo TSR-S is a 1,177-bhp racetrack-inspired street-legal hypercar

The racetrack-bred Zenvo TSR has been so awe-inspiring that some drivers are aching to take it to the streets. But they couldn’t, as the TSR isn't designed to be legally driven on the streets. However, Zenvo Automotive is unveiling a new version of the TSR that could be legally driven on the streets – the all-new Zenvo TSR-S.
Zenvo intended the new TSR-S as a street legal version of the TSR, which is why it bears the ’S’ in its model name. It is the third model in Zenvo’s TS (Twin Supercharged) model lineup and is basically a crossover between the TS1 GT car and the TSR, marrying remarkable on-road capabilities and utmost exclusivity. After all, Zenvo is planning just to build five examples of the TSR-S a year – a testament to its exclusive nature. The Danish high-performance carmaker has already commenced production of the new TSR-S.
In terms of design, the new TSR-S looks very similar to its two TS siblings. Its overall appearance is more aggressive than the TS1; yet, it is less menacing than the TSR. Just like the TS1 and the TSR, the new TSR-R features an advanced aerodynamic design. However, its development was focused on delivering unmatched levels of driving dynamics.
For instance, the new TSR-S features Zenvo Centripetal Wing, a patent-pending active rear wing system that helps the hypercar generate over three times more downforce than the TS1 GT. This Centripetal Wing has two rotational axes that allow the rear wing to act both as an air break and a cornering stabilizer, generating both inward force and conventional downforce. This aerodynamic element is helped by a new front splitter, an updated front bumper, an LMP1-inspired air scoop, a new rear diffuser as well as a proprietary active rear wing.
The new TSR-S features an all-carbon fiber body that measures 4,815 mm in length, 2,038 mm in width (excluding door mirrors), 1,198 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,906 mm. It is underpinned by a semi-monocoque made from lightweight steel and aluminum semi, as complemented by front and rear racing steel sub-frames. Typically, the TSR-S sits 95 mm from the ground, which can be raised to 145 mm to add clearance of kerbs and speed humps. Weight is distributed with a little bias to the front (53 percent front: 47 percent rear).
It is powered by a Zenvo 5.8-liter V8 racing engine -- with Twin Centrifugal Superchargers and sequential fuel injection – that could deliver 1,177 bhp of max output. This power is sent to the rear wheels through a paddle shift seven-speed transmission (with helical-cut dog gears), giving the TSR-S the ability to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds, and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 6.8 seconds. The TSR-S has an electronically limited top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). Power is transmitted to the road through forged aluminum wheels (20 inches front and 21 inches rear) shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Drivers could choose from three available settings: Minimum (700 bhp), IQ (traction-dependent), and Maximum (1,177 bhp).
Inside, the new TSR-S features a minimalistic driver-focused interior. In its ultimate configuration, the TSR-S is devoid of a sound system, speakers, air conditioning, airbags and satellite navigation. Occupants are accommodated in mechanically operated seats. The new hypercar is provided with a steering wheel with racing-adopted switch as well as bespoke TSR-S carbon seat shells wrapped in cushioned fabric and Alcantara.
