2018 Hyundai Tucson Sport trim gets a 181 HP four cylinder engine

It seems like the Hyundai Tucson will be expanding its range because the automaker is said to give the SUV a new Sport trim that will be equipped with a 2.4 liter four cylinder with 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 175 pound feet (237 Newton metres) of torque that starts at 4,000 rpm, together with a six speed automatic. This powertrain will be available in either a front wheel- or an all wheel-drive layout.
Naturally, the 2.4 liter powerplant will carry out a little more output than the current 1.6 turbocharged four cylinder engine with only 175 horsepower (131 kilowatts) and 195 pound feet (264 Newton metres). This particular engine came with a seven speed dual clutch gearbox.
If you know about the Tucson lineup, the Sport trim is allocated between the SEL trim and the SEL Plus. The Sport trim comes with all of the SEL’s features - from the power driver’s seat, heated front seats, fog lights, and blind spot monitoring. The Sport will be given a set of 19 inch wheels, and will feature things like lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, dual zone automatic climate control, LED approach lights, and a proximity key.
Some other features of the 2018 Tucson Sport FWD Automatic Transmission include premium front and rear fascias, chrome tipped dual exhaust, side mirrors with turn signal indicators and dual automatic temperature control, CleanAir Ionizer and auto defogger, and floor console mounter rear vents. Inside, there will also be a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and door handle LED approach lights on the outside. Of course, it comes complete with safety features too.
According to the automaker, the Tucson Sport arrives for the 2018 model year, but the refreshed model is also coming for the 2019 model year. In fact, Hyundai has already been teasing about the updated model’s debut at the up and coming New York Auto Show.
Some of the most obvious changes on the outside include a new grille, revised headlights, and an improved cabin. The automaker schedules to put the vehicle on sale in the United States sometime this summer. Since the Sport is a new addition to the lineup, the trim would likely be around for the revised SUV.
If you are interested in getting one of these, the Tucson Sport can be had at $25,150 plus the $980 destination - that is for the front wheel drive model. The all wheel drive version, on the other hand, has a starting price of $26,550 before destination. It will then get an extra windshield wiper de-icer to the standard features list. At the time of writing, customers could already order their Hyundai Tucson Sport Trim in dealerships.
