BMW X3 M’s 475 hp Competition Package will arrive in early 2019

We are certain that the BMW X3 M is coming, because spy shots of the said model have already been published online. But according to the Bavarians, they have something that we might have more interest in than this, and that is a hotter version of the said model. According to Spanish website Motor.es, BMW will give the BMW X3 M SUV a Competition Package that will boost the regular model’s output, while also sharpening its handling.
The standard version of the upcoming X3 M is actually pretty impressive already. With a 3.0 line inline six that has an output of 450 horsepower (335 kilowatts). But of course, with the Competition Package, it will become much beefier. Additional tuning will push its performance to 475 horsepower (354 kilowatts). There will also be a performance tuned all wheel drive system that will be similar to the setup in the latest M5.
Will all that power, the automaker should of course make sure that the X3 M with the Competition Package will stand out physically too. This is why the X3 M’s body will be given extra details to make it look more aggressive - from larger intakes up front, a roof spoiler, and the M division’s familiar quad exhausts in the back. It will also be equipped with larger brakes, which indeed are necessary to slow down the super fast SUV. Handling has also been made better, thanks to the engineers who tweaked the car’s suspension for easier cornering. Inside, you will then find performance oriented upgrades like the gearshift and the M1/M2 buttons.
Furthermore, our sources also said that we can expect the Competition Package to turn up the performance dial even higher. This will come in the form of a stiffer suspension, like revised settings for adjustable dampers, as well as tweaked stability and traction controls that will allow for more aggressive motoring too. A new set of brakes will be provided too, and they will be larger as well. Lastly, a set of 20 inch forged wheels will indicate that this option is more hardcore, which will be accented by black trim all over the body.
If the rumours we have been hearing are correct, then the X3 M should arrive before the end of the year. This will then be followed by the optional Competition Package that should be available a couple of months after the release of the X3 M, so most likely, in early 2019.
Right now, we are excited to see the BMW X3 M get rid of its camouflage, because we think that it is going to be real good looking. As for the price, we do not have any information on this just yet, but stay tuned
