Chevrolet launches reenergized 2019 Camaro with new Turbo 1LE model

Chevrolet is introducing the 2019 iteration of its quintessential Camaro pony car, as further reenergized with new characteristic designs and new available technologies. Furthermore, the new 2019 Camaro is now available as the Turbo 1LE model.
The updates made on the design of the 2019 Camaro don’t just make the car more appealing and more stunning, but also enhance its potential – following the mantra that all elements mustn’t only be beautiful but also improve performance. For instance, the new Camaro features redesigned grille details, hood and fascia vents for optimized airflow, working to either cool down heat-yielding components or reduce aerodynamic drag and lift.
For the 2019 models, the new Camaro is available with the carmaker’s next-generation Infotainment 3, as laden with all-new systems which functionality mimics the latest smartphones and tablets. These systems also allow over-the-air vehicle software updates. As standard, a seven-inch-diagonal color touchscreen is provided, although an eight-inch diagonal touchscreen is available.
To further distinguish various Camaro models – LS/LT, RS and SS – their front ends were styled differently. These models have several styling differences on their grille, LED dual-element headlamps, fascia and reshaped bonnet. For instance, the SS models sport an extractor-style hood, “flowtie” open bowtie grille emblem, air curtains and specific headlamps with new LED signature.
The RS Appearance Package – offered on LT -- adds unique polished black grille with Galvano Chrome lower inserts as well as new LED headlamps with LED signature light bar. This package also includes 20-inch wheels and specific rear fascia with rear diffuser. Interestingly, the ZL1 retains its airflow-optimized front end styling. New 20-inch wheel designs are provided for the RS and SS.
All models also feature new rear fascias, with the RS and SS equipped with Dual Mode Exhaust provided with specific diffusers. Camaro’s LS and LT, with RS, SS and ZL1 models feature new LED tail lamps with more sculptured dual-element design as well as red lenses with dark-tinted neutral-density lenses.
Meanwhile, Camaro’s 1LE track-focused lineup is still made up of the V6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE models. However, a new model is joining them – the Camaro Turbo 1LE, which boasts of a nearly 50/50 weight distribution. This version employs Camaro’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 275 hp (205 kW) of max output and 295 lb.-ft. (400 Nm) of peak torque, as mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The Turbo 1LE comes with a tailored chassis package adopted from the V6 1LE, featuring FE3 suspension with larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars. The new Turbo 1LE also makes use of stiffer rear cradle bushings, cross-axis ball joints in the rear tow links and specifically tuned dampers. The Turbo 1LE is equipped with Brembo brake package with low-metallic performance pads. The new Turbo 1LE comes standard with sueded flat-bottom steering wheel and shift knob plus. Recaro seats are available for this model.
Riding on split summer-only tire sizes (P245/40R20 on the front and P275/35R20 at the rear), the new Turbo 1LE comes with a Driver Mode Selector with Sport Mode and new Track Mode. Interestingly, the Competition Mode is integrated in the Sport and Track Mode and features launch control, performance instrument readouts and shift lights.
