Buick Enspire EV Concept boasts 550hp and 370-mile range

Buick has yet to officially unveil the newest Enspire Concept in China but it gave everyone a juicy preview ahead of its scheduled debut on April 25 in Beijing. The concept not only looks great, but it also features an electric powertrain that gives it an output of 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and that allows for a 370 mile (596 kilometers) range. According to Buick, their estimated sprint time for the Enspire would be four seconds to hit 60 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour).
Buick used the Enspire to show off their take on its existing design language. Up front, you will notice a broad grille and there are skinny, chrome spears that incorporate the LED headlights. Each corner of the vehicle’s face is dominated by big intakes. There are smooth contours on both the side and the rear of the vehicle, contrasted with the trendy floating roof. To match the front, there’s a strip of LED taillights that stretch all the way across the back.
“Surround skyline” is what Buick calls the cabin’s theme. However, as you can see, they have only provided one photo here so we don’t really have a good look at the interior. Although from that image alone, we can tell that it is quite a high tech place. It features theatre-type seating that gives the Enspire a bright and spacious interior. Some of its cutting edge technologies include an OLED display screen and an intelligent augmented reality technology based head-up display.
Moreover, the entire windshield can be turned into a head-up display. Therefore, this is easier for the driver as he does not have to look away from the road to see navigation instructions.
This is all thanks to augmented reality for highlighting the street ahead to show the driver which way to go, just like playing a video game - how amazing is that? If that is not your thing, there is a redundant navigation display in the instrument panel too. It also features 5G super high speed network concept. To give the cabin a hint of luxury, the center console and armrests feature a mix of wood and suede.
As for performance, the eMotion electric propulsion technology can produce a maximum power of 410 kilowatts that will let the Enspire sprint from 0-60 miles per hour in just 4 seconds.
Buick has not shared details about the Enspire’s electric powertrain. Aside from its high power and long range, apparently, this vehicle can quickly charge 80 percent of its battery capacity in only 40 minutes. As mentioned earlier, in only one charge, it can travel up to 370 miles.
If you would like to see this vehicle in person, you will want to check it out at the Auto China 2018 in Beijing between April 25 and May 4.
