Mercedes-Benz Collection subscription service will be launched in two US cities this summer

Automakers have been jumping on the bandwagon of offering subscription vehicle service. You may have already heard about BMW’s Access by BMW or Porsche’s Passport. Now, Mercedes-Benz is planning to join the lateset trend of car sharing with the newest Mercedes-Benz Collection, a monthly subscription that will launch in two United States cities in the summer. These are Nashville, Tennessee, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The two cities will act as test beds for the Mercedes Benz Collection. For some reason, BMW also chose Nashville to be the starting point of their service, while Porsche went for Atlanta, Georgia. In particular, Mercedes Benz Collection will let users swap vehicles depending on their needs and their lifestyles.
As such, there will be different levels to the monthly subscription, and that will depend on how much you are willing to spend too. Subscribers will have an option to rent everything from sedans to SUVs, to roadsters and wagons, including Mercedes-AMG models in each tier.
Speaking of the subscription, the monthly fee will also include insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and vehicle maintenance. And there still won’t be a limit on mileage for any vehicle. To manage your subscription, everything from transactions to concierge communications can be done through the mobile Mercedes Benz Collection app.
Now, we know that there will be different tiers for the subscription, although Mercedes Benz has not shared any details about the price, but don’t expect it to be cheap. For instance, BMW’s plan can be had in two tiers, the Legend Plan for $2,000 a month, and the M Plan for $3,700, plus an additional joining fee of $575. Porsche’s rates also play around those figures at $2,000 a month. Cadillac, on the other hand, offers the same service in New York City at $1,500 per month.
Mercedes Benz has yet to finalize most of the details, specifically with regards to the rates, including the exact models that they will be offering as part of the service. We also don’t know yet which models will be offered for every tier.
Despite this, the automaker already has plans to accept customer applications in just a few months. And for those of you who are interested to try the Mercedes Benz subscription service, be among the first group to sign up online for this. What we can confirm is that the Mercedes Benz Collection will launch in Nashville and Philadelphia as early as June.
