Seen in Abu Dhabi: BMW M550i xDrive is decked out with M Performance body kit, brown leather interior
If you have driven, or at least heard of the BMW M550i’s performance specs, you will definitely be blown away, as it can hit the 60 miles per hour sprint in under four seconds, with its 4.4 liter, twin turbo V8 engine. This engine lets the vehicle carry out 456 horsepower and 480 pound feet of torque of tap, which also makes it half a second quicker than the previous M5 that is actually equipped with the same engine.
Now, we already know that the new M5 is the perfect car for people who enjoy driving crazy powerful cars, and with all its power, it barely needs any upgrade. But looking at this machine sometimes makes you think of what more can it give.
Well, if you happen to be in the area, you might want to head out to the world’s largest BMW dealership located in the Persian Gulf emirate of Abu Dhabi. Because that is where you will find this brand-new M550i xDrive.
It is wearing a beautiful white paint and a contrasting interior dressed in deep brown leather. The white body also contrasts with the blacked out kidney grilles, and uses a lot of carbon fiber bits like the front bumper, the air splitter, the mirror covers, boot lid spoiler and rear diffuser. That’s not all, as it is also given the optional M Performance body kit, that includes oversized 20 inch alloy wheels finished in dark grey.
When looking at this from the outside, it is easy to say that the M550i is already more distinctive than its regular siblings, simply from its well thought out details, to the power it comes with from under the hood.
What’s even shocking about this is the fact that the price gap between this model and a full-on M5 is huge, and I mean enough for you to purchase another brand new model. In the United States, you can get the brand new top level model for $100,000, while the regular M550i sells for just under $75,000 - now that is a huge gap. In fact, that amount could get you a base Ford Mustang with the EcoBoost turbo four.
Unfortunately, with the new emissions regulations coming into effect, BMW had to halt the production of the M550i, but don’t worry as this is only temporary. And even though production has been stopped, the cars that had been produced are still being delivered around the world.
