Japanese magazine leaks undisguised images of the Toyota Supra

If there’s one Toyota car that has kept everyone guessing, it is the Supra. It is finally coming our way as it makes its return on March 6 at the Geneva Motor Show. The automaker recently gave us a teaser of this dark silhouette that really shows nothing but the rear of the car with a massive spoiler attached to it.
Now, new images of the Toyota Supra had been published in a Japanese magazine and, this time, the photos show the entire car and not just the rear.
Though we would like to believe that this is the Toyota Supra that we will see next month, we have having some doubts about it as well. These photos have been shared on the Supra MXV forum, but were sourced from Best Car Magazine.
And the photos feature a full page spread on the new Supra concept, in both road and racing form. These vehicles seem to have gotten inspiration from the FT-1 concept, while the race ready GTE version sports a massive rear wing similar to the one you would see in Toyota’s official silhouette teaser.
Furthermore, the magazine did not just publish photos but also listed some specs. Some of the details it included are the vehicle’s engine offering, which is a turbocharged 3.0 liter inline six that carries out 335 horsepower (250 kilowatts) and 332 pound feet (450 Newton-metres) of torque. This engine is then said to be paired to an eight speed automatic transmission.
Even if the Toyota Supra is already bared in a magazine, we still are not fully convinced. That’s because the same thing happened before with an upcoming new sports car.
Sometime in mid-2017, the publication AutoBild claimed that a new Nissan 390Z and a Mazda RX-7 would be unveiled alongside the Supra at the Tokyo Motor Show, but none of these models actually showed up. This is why we are still a bit skeptical about this magazine article. Really, the best thing to do is just to wait until the Geneva Motor Show.
The car’s prototype has been spied several times now, even alongside the BMW Z4, which it will share the same platform with - on the road and on the track. And like I said earlier, it will be ideal if we do not expect for anything and just wait until March 6, if it makes an appearance there. It isn’t that long from now anyway.
