Of Course There's Already A Render Of The 2020 Mercedes-AMG A45 'Predator'

Less than 24 hours after the reveal of the new A-Class, this render of an AMG version was unleashed onto the Internet

When it comes to looks, reception for the 2019 Mercedes A-Class has been mixed. From the front end which seems to be lifted directly from the new CLS to the ‘pinched’ look of the rear, there’s certainly a lot to talk about here. But how would it look with a little sprinkling of AMG?
Thanks to this image from CT’s favourite Internet renderer X-Tomi Design, now we know. We have big, multi-spoke wheels, various gloss black parts and a prominent lower grille insert, among other tweaks. It’s also been imagined with the current car’s aero kit, adding a tremendously unsubtle rear wing and front bumper gurney flaps into the mix.
An AMG version of the new A-Class is indeed happening, but currently, we don’t know what it’ll be called. Mercedes naming conventions may soon be undergoing a shake-up soon, so the car - currently codenamed ‘Predator’ - may not be called ‘A45’ at all. To complicate matters further, AMG boss Tobias Moers also recently confirmed that there will be a Golf R-rivalling version with ‘just’ 300bhp, which could end up being badged A35.
As for the ‘A45’, we can expect a power figure in excess of 400bhp, a 0-62mph time under four seconds and a mind firmly set on punching the Audi RS3 in its trapezoid-grilled face.
