These New Teasers Reveal The Four-Door Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe

Mercedes has released a series of pictures of the new four-door AMG GT Coupe, and while it's still in camouflage there are a few nuggets of news we can see through the disguise

Fresh teaser images of a camouflaged Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe have been released ahead of the Geneva Motor Show.
The car will make its official entrance at the flagship Swiss show after being previewed by the AMG GT Concept last year. The finished article has been pictured testing in Mercedes’ wind tunnel, where its aerodynamics have been earning the final sign-off.
We can just about see that the concept’s single, central exhaust has been switched for a more conventional AMG four-pipe setup at the outer edges of the bumper. The rear light design is different, too, but the headlights and grille look strikingly similar to the ones we saw last year.
It’s essentially a longer, four-door version of the car the other Matt drove every version of not too long ago. That said, there’s still a very interesting question mark over exactly what will power it. We can, at least, guarantee you that it will have bigger wheels than the ones you see here.
The concept that emerged a year or so ago was fitted with an 805bhp hybrid powertrain partly derived from Lewis Hamilton’s race car. It could hit 62mph from a standstill in less than three seconds and you can bet it would knock on the door of 200mph.
Its hybrid system was ‘closed’, so it was self-charging and would always have electric charge available to use, in much the same way as you see in Toyota and Lexus hybrids. How closely the production car will stick to the concept’s drivetrain hints, we’ll have to wait and see.
