2018 Audi RS6 Avant Performance Nogaro Edition has impressive specs
It was back in October 2015 when we first saw the Performance version. It served as the ultimate expression of the RS6 Avant that produced as much as 597 horsepower (445 kilowatts) that it got from its biturbo 4.0 liter V8. Now, it is 2018 and there is a new king, thanks to the collaboration between Audi and ABT Sportsline - the Nogaro Edition. There are only 150 examples of this special edition high performance wagon by Ingolstadt.
This special edition model pays tribute to the iconic RS2 model, which was launched in 1994. It is actually considered as the automaker’s first ever RS model. Now, the RS6 Avant Nogaro Edition is finished in Nogaro blue paint (and that is actually where it got its name). To give the body a little bit of a contrast, it also gets some black accents all over its body.
This is finished off with a new set of 21 inch wheels with thick 285/30 tires and of course, we can’t forget the RS titanium exhaust system it has been equipped with to make the most out of the V8 powerhouse.
As mentioned earlier, ABT and Audi worked together to build this special edition model. Having said that, they decided to further push the TFSI so output can be increased to an impressive 695 horsepower (519 kilowatts). If the standard model has a torque of 516 pound feet (700 Newton metres) of torque, the tweaked version is up to a mountain-moving 649 pound feet (880 Newton metres).
After all the tuning, the RS6 Avant Performance Nogaro Edition now does the 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint in only 3.7 seconds. It then boasts a top speed of 155 miles per hour (250 kilometers per hour). But if that is not fast enough for you, you can go for the Dynamic Package Plus option that can boost its top speed to 199 miles per hour (320 kilometers per hour).
As of today, those interested could already pre-order their RS6 Avant Performance in Germany as Audi has begun taking orders for this. You can get your hands on one of the regular version models for 124,200 euros ($154,400) and 130,000 euros ($161,600) for the Nogaro Edition, which gives you blue accents inside and out. Whichever variant you go for, every single Avant will get an individually numbered plaque as well as a “Nogaro Edition” logo for the special model, as a proof of its exclusivity.
For the sake of comparison, the blue version is just as expensive as the rear wheel drive R8 V10 RWS Coupe, another Audi special that is available in Germany for an extra 10,000 euros ($12,400).
