You can get this 2001 Isuzu Vehicross Ironman Edition for $13,500
Back in the late 90s, Isuzu came out with the two-door Vehicross SUV. If you’re a fan of the brand, you’ll surely remember it. That is because this model had distinct features like its unique body cladding and distinct styling.
In fact, this model became somewhat of a cult classic among off road enthusiasts. Despite already being unique, there is an even more exclusive version of the Vehicross that you have not seen, and it was dubbed the Ironman Edition.
Supposedly, the automaker’s original plan was to build 1,000 examples of the Vehicross Ironman Edition, but the exact number of how many units actually made it out of the production line is unclear. Besides that, the seller stated that the example being sold is just “1 of 86 units ever made”.
Every single one also shares the same name, as they were all named after the long distance triathlon. Each one of them also has a number of visual and performance upgrades to boot as well.
What makes this particular example unique are all the added custom bits like the reservoir shocks, a two inch lift, black hood decal, a Yakima roof rack, and Ironman logos on the exterior. Inside, there is an upgraded sound system, while the cabin is dressed in a two-tone red and black colour. This is definitely one unique example, and if by any chance you are interested in this, you can check it out on Craigslist in Seattle. The best part is that you can get this for only as low as $13,500. Where else can you get a fully functional customized SUV for that price?
What powers this special edition SUV is the same 3.5 liter V6 in the standard model that is paired to a four speed automatic transmission. With this under its hood, it can carry out as much as 215 horsepower (160 kilowatts) when it is brand new.
The Ironman Edition Vehicross also has been given a unique voice, thanks to its new aftermarket exhaust as well as other exterior features like the HID converted headlights, LED converted parking lights, as well as an Alpine head unit.
As you check its odometer, this SUV has been driven for 118,000 miles (189,902 kilometers) since it first rolled off the production line. However, the seller stated that this example has some minor issues, such as a failed ABS module, some tiny chips on the hood and the windshield, and some scratches on the back bumper. These are pretty minor problems though and are quite easy to fix. But what makes it really unique is that this model is a rare SUV.
