BMW i8 looks exceptional in camo wrap design

BMW’s hybrid sports car, the i8, is guaranteed to catch everyone’s attention no matter where it is and no matter what color it may be.
First released to the market back in 2014, the brand revealed that it will be redesigning the BMW i8. Even with the possible change in the design, the combination of a compact shape, use of flowing lines, and a unique style, meant that the i8 would remain to be one of the most futuristic looking models available on the market.
One owner in particular decided to share his own version with the i8 having that unique camo wrapgiving it an appearance of a spaceship mixed with a snow leopard. This feeling is heightened once the butterfly doors have been raised.
It was last year when the brand said it will be implementing certain changes for the i8 that was set for release in 2017. First of these was the electric motor that would have its power increased by 10%. Meanwhile the 1.5-liter petrol engine would be upgraded as well with its output increased by 60 hp to 420 hp. With the current engine only able to offer 362 hp, this meant an increase of almost 60 hp.
Changes done to the engine meant that there was a need to change the automatic six-speed transmission as well. However, with this combination, it is expected that the new i8 would have a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) is projected to be faster than the 4.4 seconds offered by the current engine.
The difference will also be felt not just in the performance but also in the electric range and with it the total range. Additional upgrades include the chassis and the carbon fiber wheels. The brand is even planning to offer an inductive charging system as a possible option.
The main drawback of the new i8 would likely be its $150,000 tag price. That should come as no surprise given that despite BMW long sporting the line of having the "Ultimate Driving Machine," it managed to release a sports car that was “green.” The price appears to be justified, considering how the body has been designed. It brings to mind an exotic vehicle especially with the butterfly doors and carbon chassis.
So is the price truly worth it? Doug deMuro managed to get inside one and according to him, the i8 is able to back up its claim. While it may not be the perfect car, he said that it is well worth the price.
According to BMW, the “i’ lineup is projected to have a total of 7 models with the i8 set to have a roadster version released soon.
