BMW M8 rendering looks ready for production

BMW enthusiasts are quite excited for the revival of the new 8 Series. In fact, we have already seen the concept of the upcoming coupe a few months back at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. After seeing the concept, we have got artists rendering the proposed production version of it, based on what they've seen on the latest spy shots. As usual, BMW already previewed the M8 through a series of camouflaged photos, building hype for its release next year.

The rendering of the M8 production car was done by Cars.co.za. Overall, the virtual M8 looks both subtle and aggressive. To keep it close to its ancestors, the M8 has a pair of kidney grille up front, together with an aggressive diffuser and three vents to complete the front fascia. Unlike the concept where the M8 gets a set of sleek headlights, the rendered version instead gets fixtures that will remind you more of the production version.

For the side profile, the car features large vents that spans from behind the front wheel, stretching all the way to the rear. The rear end, on the other hand, gets design cues from the M2 and the M6, especially when looking at the tail lights. It has been given quad exhaust tips by the artist and new lip spoiler that’s not very prominent. As seen in the photo, the rendered M8 is finished in a bold shade of Melbourne Red Metallic that are complemented with a set of black wheels.

The new M8 will likely get the same S63 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 as the F90 BMW M5 that gives as much as 600 horsepower and 800 Newton-metres of torque sent to an xDrive (all-wheel drive) system.

By looking at the rendering and comparing it to the spy shots, it seems quite accurate to what might be the production version. By 2018, we should already see the final design of the 8 Series, an M8 GTE race car is also scheduled to be revealed at the Daytona 24 Hours in January 2018. It seems like 2018 will be an exciting year for BMW. If you want the 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) M8, you will have to wait until 2019.

In 2019, the company’s lineup will receive a significant revamp with planned releases for the X3, X4, X5, the M5 and the M8. The M8 is a high-end sporty coupe that will make its return to Le Mans racing. It is the first M8 model to hit the market after it first came out back in the 90s.
