Inden Design restyles and upgrades the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Before the Mercedes-AMG GT came to life, there was the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. But production for the latter only lasted for four years, and now, it is gone for good. There are some people who get attached to their cars, not wanting to sell them because owners consider them valuable, and this might be the case for Inden Design. The German tuner recently came out with a kit that will keep the SLS AMG fresh and running for several more years.
Inden Design says that the result after installing the kit will be the “world’s most advanced SLS AMG”. The SLS AMG gets a whole body makeover, and I mean all original Black Series parts will be dismantled as it goes through the process of upgrading. Everything from the apron to the hood, and even the side sills will be changed.
But the upgrades are not just about how it looks on the outside. The SLS AMG will be getting an upgraded interior and engine as well. The cabin originally comes with a factory carbon package. Underneath will be a new ice-blast treatment, combined with some original durable plastic laminated parts. Having said that, all the upgrades are not just for show, but have their functions too.
Under the hood of the SLS AMG is a 6.2 liter V8 that has been enhanced so it could push its output to 635 horsepower (467 kilowatts), that is equivalent to a 64 horsepower (47 kW) increase from the original model - thanks to an MKB tune. Other than that, a set of KW suspension was paired with a stainless steel exhaust system. To finish off the look, the SLS AMG has been given a set of BBS-F1 rims finished in gloss black to complement the rest of the body.
After the customization done by Inden Design, the SLS AMG appeared more aggressive than ever. We are guessing that the package would make a hole in your wallet with all the changes that will be made. Inden didn’t divulge how much this package costs but it likely won’t be an issue with its customers who could easily afford a new SLS AMG, which starts at $200,000.
For some back story, the Mercedes SLS AMG was first unveiled during the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, which was then followed by an official release sometime in 2010 (in Europe), and 2011 in the United States. After that, the company developed an electric variant of the model in 2012 - the SLS AMG Electric Drive, which was revealed at the Paris Motor Show. The electric variant did not make it to the production line, while the production of the Final Edition SLS AMG ended in early 2014. Since then, it had been replaced by the more modern AMG GT.
PRESS RELEASE

Inden Design Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

For an extended period of time, Inden Design is the most important preeminent in the vehicle and tuning scene. Located in Rennerod in Rhineland Palatinate, vehicles of the brand Ferrari, Porsche and Mercedes - as well as other high-end automobiles - are becoming intensified and upgraded under the guidance of Joe Inden. For almost 25 years, its precise pieces of work and many years of experience are highly appreciated by customers from across Germany and worldwide. Lately, business owner Joe Inden was able to fulfill his own personal dream. The SLS AMG Black Series SLS AMG is the world's most advanced SLS AMG. As for now the project is broadly outlined as covering every detail would be too extensive.
As the first step is the entire vehicle is dismantled. All Mercedes AMG original parts of the Black Series - starting at the front apron, the hood, the fenders, the side sills up to the rear apron - have been lavishly coated and reassembled. The side parts - which are the connectors between the side sills and the rear apron - are made of carbon and have been specially tailored. Utmost preciseness and great skills are key in this field.
Subsequent, the interior and the engine compartment are fully equipped with the complete carbon package of the Black Series. But the boss was not happy with the "standard" - the vehicle was suppose to be even more unique.
Ice-blast technology has been applied to the entire underbody and many parts were coated or plastic laminated. Additionally, a set of KW suspension coil springs and a stainless steel exhaust system. The exclusive BBS-F1 rims - only available at Inden Design 10,0Jx20 with 265 / 30R20 on the front axle and 12, 5Jx21 with 325 / 25R21 on the rear axle complete the overall look. Even the power output has not been neglected. Thanks to MKB the original 571 HP (= 420 kW) made for an enormous 635 hp (= 467 kW) in total.
Bottom line: Many hours of hard work are paid off at the end. Thanks to the outstanding accuracy and experience of Joe Inden, after the upgrade the basic vehicle is indistinguishable from the original Black Series top-of-the-range model. Absolute perfection from top to bottom. In the end the clientele can take pleasure in this truly one of a kind and unique piece of automobile craftsmanship.
