Jeep Grand Cherokee receives some updates for the 2015MY









The Jeep Grand Cherokee received more goodies for the 2015 model year as well as a new Summit California Edition package that enhances Summit’s premium exterior aesthetics. In addition, Summit models receive a new Grand Cherokee Summit Argentina Tan leather interior that covers the seats, center console armrest, upper door panels and upper dashboard.
According to the official press release, the 2015 Grand Cherokee Summit gets an acoustic laminated windshield, while second-row side glass are offered as standard. Exterior road noise is reduced even more at the interior thanks to the new Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system developed by Harman Kardon, which brings a 10dB reduction in noise.
As we said, the 2015MY Grand Cherokee is available with a new Summit California Edition appearance package that offers body-color lower body trim, mirror caps and door handles, Platinum Chrome accents found on the grille, lower fascias and side sills, fog lamp bezels, rear step and badging. Moreover, the package brings new 20-inch wheels painted in Satin Carbon.
The 2015 Grand Cherokee is available with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that produces 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. The engine is capable of towing a best-in-class 7,400 pounds and returns a fuel economy of 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway for the 4x2 models, while the 4x4 models deliver 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.
The diesel-powered model offers a range of more than 730 miles. Still, a Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine is available as standard and this engine delivers 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with this engine, the 2015 Grand Cherokee models tow up to 6,200 pounds.
This engine returns a fuel economy of 17 mpg city/28 mpg highway on 4x2 models and 17 mpg city/24 mg highway on 4x4 models, which means a driving range of 600 miles.
If you want mode power, Chrysler offers the 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque and a best-in-class towing capacity of 7,400 pounds. Thanks to the Fuel Saver cylinder-deactivation technology, the V8 powered model returns a fuel economy of 14 mpg city/22 mpg highway on 4x2 models and 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway on 4x4 models.
All 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee models are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Jeep will offer the 2015 Grand Cherokee in Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit and SRT models.
