2015 Dodge Viper SRT arrives with new models, colours and small power increase

For the 2015MY, SRT Viper becomes again a Dodge, which means that this time we will call it the Dodge Viper SRT. But this is not all, as the 2015MY also brings the new GT model featuring a driver-selectable suspension system and more luxurious appointments that were only available on the GTS model.
According to the official press release, the 2015 Dodge Viper GT comes with a five-mode electronic stability control system, unique interior offered as standard ALcantara and Nappa leather seats available in black, Demonic Red or Sepia.
As expected, the Viper GT model will be slotted and priced between the Viper and Viper GTS models. Also new for 2015MY is the Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition, an evolution of the 2014 Viper TA Model.
The TA 2.0 Special Edition model arrives with a new rear wing, which is balanced with aerodynamic elements for the front. The TA 2.0 Aerodynamics Package includes new front dive planes, carbon fiber front corner splitters and a larger rear wing which increases the downforce from 278 pounds at 150 mph to 400 pounds when compared with the previous model.
In addition, the vehicle arrives with race-tuned Bilstein DampTronic suspension system, a new carbon fiber x-brace that replaces the aluminum brace located under the hood, new two-piece Brembo (32 mm wide) rotors and pads, as well as Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
Inside, there are standard premium ballistic fabric racing seats built by Sabelt and featuring a fiberglass shell, fitted with three- or six-point harness for racing belts. Interior also includes orange accent stitching on the cloth seats, instrument panel, center stack, console, pull brake, shifter boot, shifter head, steering wheel and upper doors.
Dodge will offer the 2015 Viper TA 2.0 in just three limited-edition colors - Competition Blue, Yorange and Venom Black, which is new for 2015 – and the production will be limited to 32 units of each of the three exterior colours. Also new for 2015 is the Dodge Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition Package, which brings Ceramic Blue colour with black stripes and the five-spoke Rattler wheels painted in Black Vapor Chrome.
Other accents include a GTS sill badge, Satin Black exhaust bezel, Ceramic Blue fuel filler door, orange brake calipers, carbon fiber brake ducts and rear applique. The interior includes a headliner wrapped in Alcantara, silver accent stitching, carbon fiber accents and a serialized GTS badge located on the dashboard.
Dodge will only built 40 units of the Viper GTS model fitted with the Ceramic Blue Edition Package. The 2015 Viper GT and GTS models get two new colours called Stryker Purple and Yorange.
Under the hood, we find the same 8.4-liter V10 engine that was boosted from 640 to 645 hp, which means that if you want a more powerful model you should get the cheaper Challenger SRT Hellcat. Still, torque remains the same: 600 lb-ft. Despite the “massive” power increase, fuel consumption also increased by 1 mpg to 20 mpg on the highway. The engine is bolted to the same Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission with close gear ratios and a final-drive ratio of 3.55.
