2017 Jaguar F-Type gains entry-level model, starts at $62,395

Starting in the 2017 model year, more consumers can afford to purchase a new Jaguar F-TYPE in the United States. This came after Jaguar North America disclosed a decision to expand the F-TYPE’s price range in the country to cover new entry-level coupe and convertible models.
This expansion means that the introductory price of the MY2017 F-TYPE Coupe and Convertible will be lowered to $61,400 and $65,400, respectively. The MSRPs exclude $995 destination/handling charge, tax, title, license, and retailer fees -- all due at signing -- and optional equipment.
Despite the expansion, Jaguar’s sports car lineup for the 2017 model year will still be comprised of the F-TYPE, F-TYPE S and F-TYPE R. This price level expansion builds upon the brand’s pricing realignment strategy that was disclosed as part of The Next Generation of Jaguar for the 2016 model year.
By offering new entry priced models and more standard equipment at lower MSRPs (manufacturer suggested retail price), Jaguar has brought in an enhanced competitive value position that will help it capture more customers in the premium market.
Jaguar’s entry model F-TYPE will be powered by a supercharged 340-hp 3.0L V6 engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the brand plans to offer entry models that feature rear-wheel drive and Quickshift automatic transmission configurations.
All these entry level models will feature a new six-way adjustable partially electric seat, a valet mode and solar attenuating windshield glass. Coupe versions will feature a fixed metal roof.
In terms of equipment, this model comes with around $1,700 in overall savings over the previous model year F-TYPE, thereby providing interested buyers with a lower price point. Of course, the F-TYPE will still feature as standard elements like the SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Meridian 770W surround sound audio system, Jaguar InControl Apps, navigation, leather and suede cloth finished sport seats.
Customers may also avail of more optional features either individually or through a new Premium trim/option package. Furthermore, every MY2017 F-TYPE and all MY2017 Jaguar models will feature as standard the Jaguar EliteCare coverage, which was first disclosed for the 2016 model year.
Jaguar EliteCare is an ownership package that offers a new vehicle limited warranty coupled with complimentary scheduled maintenance, Jaguar InControl Protect & RemoteTM, and roadside assistance – for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The 2017 Jaguar F-TYPE will arrive in the US in the late Spring of 2016.
