Lamborghini Urus super-SUV is re-imagined as double-cab pickup truck

Not long after Lamborghini unveiled the new Urus super sports utility vehicle, an automotive graphic artist made a rendering of a coupe-styled version of the SUV. It simply re-imagined the Urus four-door as a two-door coupe SUV, and the resulting rendered image is spectacular. Now, the same graphic artist has rendered the new Lamborghini Urus, not as a super SUV, but as double-cab pickup truck.
While it would be very hard to imagine Lamborghini creating a pickup truck, the newest rendering of the Urus as a full-size pickup truck is as equally tantalizing to the eyes as the coupe-style version. After all, both renderings were made by the designer who went by the professional moniker of X-Tomi Design.
In creating his pickup truck rendition of the Urus, X-Tomi employed an image showing the original super SUV in its profile. Upon closer inspection, X-Tomi didn’t touch the design of the Urus from the front end to the A-pillar – everything remains the same at this section. On the whole section starting from the A-pillar to the B-pillar, there aren’t so many design changes, except for the front window now larger on the pickup version. This is because the rearward slope of the slanting roof has been made less steep. The roof now also features a rack for added practicality.
Changes are now more apparent from the B-pillar to the C-pillar. Notably, the distance from each other has been shortened. The rear windows of the pickup version are higher, but the total space has been reduced. By lessening the degree of slope, the rear section of the roof has been made higher, thereby giving rear cab passengers more headroom. The roof of the cab ends with a rear spoiler. While the headroom on the rear cabin is higher on the pickup version, the total space has decreased, simply because the length of the cabin has been reduced. The C-pillar now flows downward to mark the separation between the cab and the truck bed.
As for the bed, it looks like that the upper rear cabin of the Urus SUV was chopped off into half, with the lower half being retained. To make up for the length of the truck bed, the rear overhang of the Urus was extended. The rest of the styling followed through, with the fuel cover now appearing more upright.
X-Tomi didn’t change the styling of the lighting units, the sills, the vents and even the door handles. There were, however, changes on some lines on the body, in particular the slanting ones, to make way for the changes in the length of the vehicle.
This Urus pickup truck by X-Tomi could as well as be called a super-SUV. Currently, the most powerful pickup truck in the market is the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor with a power rating of 450 hp. If the Urus pickup truck retains the powerplant of the super SUV – a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine delivers 650 hp (484 kW) of max output and 627 lb.-ft. (850 Nm) – then it could be called a super-pickup.
However, the Urus pickup lacks the domineering, tough and rough character of a typical truck currently offered on the market.
