Spy images show tweaks on front grille and infotaiment screen of 2019 Jeep Renegade

Jeep had recently teased the refreshed 2019 Jeep Cherokee mid-size sports utility vehicle that will be unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The refresh included a new front end with a tweaked nose and headlight design. While the Jeep Renegade isn't getting a major refresh yet, recently leaked images show that the brand’s compact SUV is getting some subtle changes to its styling for the 2019 model year.

An Instagram user who goes by the name “Renegade Jeeps” has posted two images of the upcoming 2019 Jeep Renegade. One of the images shows the front end of the Renegade, while the other picture reveals the center stack inside the compact crossover. The Instagram user described the enhancements made on the front end of the Jeep Renegade as a facelift, although these visual tweaks weren’t major ones. For instance, the front end of the new 2019 Jeep Renegade features more angular elements than before. The headlights have also been revised, and they now sport new rectangular sections in the middle section. Furthermore, cutouts that border the circular headlights are now given a square-like shape.

Likewise, the new 2019 Jeep Renegade now comes with light-colored element around each rim. On the other hand, the overall trim of the grille in the 2019 Renegade has been made lighter than other parts of the body, resulting to a two-tone character up front. In addition, the edges of each of the seven slots on the iconic grille are now sharper than those on the current Renegade. Furthermore, the distance between the fog lights seems to have been reduced.

Inside, the only image available was that of the Renegade’s center stack. This section of the cabin now dons a larger screen display for the infotainment features. According to Renegade Jeeps, the screen display for the 2019 iteration of the compact SUV now measures 8.4 inches. Notably, the infotainment screen display appears neater and more spacious, thanks to the absence of the buttons that used to surround it. Just below of the screen display are the control knobs for radio tuning and volume as well other functions. Meanwhile, controls for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) are found further below the screen display.

So far, these are the only changes that the spy images for the 2019 Jeep Renegade have revealed. Renegade customers and potential buyers could expected more revelations from both the brand and unofficial sources about the possible tweaks –in terms of design, functions and even performance – for the 2019 Jeep Renegade. These tweaks could mean new styling, added features and even new engines. So far, only Jeep knows about all of them, although the brand is expected to disclose them to the public sometime in 2018, closer to the official sales launch of the compact SUV.
