Aston Martin AM37S luxury speedboat heads to Monaco Yacht Show

Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts are finally done building the AM37 after endlessly teasing us with mere renderings of their speedboat. They initially made two examples of the vessel in which one is finished in Ocellus Teal exterior with Ivory cabin while the other one is in Diavlo red with a cream leather interior. The third one is said to be already under production but we are not sure when or where it will make its first voyage. Aston Martin plans to make only ten of these annually which should cost around $1.6 million apiece.
Arriving at Monte Carlo for the 4-day event are two bespoke examples of the speedboat which will be featuring a 15-inch touch screen, a foldable swim platform and touch-screen operated sliding lightweight carbon-fiber panels. While Quintessence Yachts hails from the Netherlands, the AM37 is being manufactured and produced near Southampton England to be closer to Aston Martin’s British heritage. The Monaco boat expo is currently being held and runs from September 27 to 30.
The AM37S or the top model is equipped with a pair of Mercury Racing’s 520hp gas-fueled engines (388kW) producing a combined output of 1040hp or nearly the same output as Aston Martin’s Valkyrie with 1130hp. There are two other engine options in which the mid-range model gets a pair of 430hp (321kW) gas-fueled Mercury engines while the standard vessel shall receive a pair of diesel powered 370hp (276kW) engine.
Significantly smaller than Porsche’s Dynamiq GTT 115 superyacht, the AM37 power boat only measures 11.3m long (or 37ft as the name implies). Makers of Aston Martin’s speedboat have specially designed the AM37 for short cruises that lets its owners cover the cabin for privacy or sudden rain by sliding the cabin panels using their smartphone as the controller. Despite the smaller capacity, the cabin deck features a 48-inch TC screen, a compact refrigerator, a kitchen, a bathroom and a small sofa that you can transform into a double bed.
The 37-ft. speedboat was built under a joint collaboration involving Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer (for the design) Mulder Design (for naval architecture) Quintessence Yachts (as the shipbuilder). The AM37 is designed to board a total of 8 occupants consisting of 2 crew members and 6 passengers. It is evident how Reichman took some of his inspirations from the automotive design by creating a cockpit with slightly curved glass that wraps around it. Having said that, the AM37 is not the only Aston Martin sea vessel we will likely come across the waters. The company has just announced its plans in developing Project Neptune, a state-of-the-art limited edition submersible that Aston Martin will making with Florida-based Triton Submarines.

QUINTESSENCE YACHTS AM37S SHOWCASES BESPOKE PERSONALISATION IN MONACO

Visitors to this year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be able to personally experience two prototype Aston Martin AM37S powerboats as Quintessence Yachts collaborates with Feadship to tender their VIP guests at the Show and enhance their experience with the “Superyacht Safari”, a guided tour onboard the AM37S in the Monaco Bay among the extraordinary superyachts produced by the world-famous luxury shipyard.
Finished in eye-catching Diavolo Red with a Cream Truffle leather upholstery and contrast red stitching, the first AM37S presented at the VIP hospitality area at Quai Rainier III showcases the true bespoke nature of the tailor-made powerboat.
The second boat is another equally striking AM37S prototype, presented in Ocellus Teal with a luxurious Foglizzo marine grade Ivory leather hide and natural teak decks.
Visitors will notice the contrast between the two boats in Monaco with the specification limited only by the owners’ imagination. Each AM37 is completely customisable, making it highly unlikely that any two boats will ever be the same. Made up of 3,500 unique parts, designed, engineered and created specifically for the AM37 including the one-piece handcrafted double curvature windscreen, which is a piece of art in its own right, the AM37 is the ultimate day boat.

Combining the highest degree of technology and innovation, the perfect balance of design and engineering, with performance, comfort, luxury and functionality.
The AM37 is available in two different versions: a ‘gran turismo’ leisure powerboat with a choice of twin 370 hp Mercury diesels or two 430 hp Mercury petrol engines, and a more extreme AM37S version with twin 520hp petrol engines by Mercury Racing.
Among the unrivalled technology featured onboard, customers can enjoy unique carbon fibre sliding cockpit panels which can be remotely operated with a mobile app. Navigation, the control monitor and entertainment systems are integrated with a 15’ touchscreen in the dashboard, with advanced functions to control the electric anchor, retractable carbon fibre bimini and retractable swim platform. Each of these phenomenal day cruisers is manufactured using the latest in composite technologies and features many carbon fibre mouldings, including the upper deck.
“We are delighted that guests of the Feadship VIP Superyacht Safari at this year’s prestigious Monaco Yacht Show will be able to experience first-hand the exhilaration of the AM37S, said Quintessence Yachts CEO Mariella Mengozzi. “This is an exciting time for our company.
