Would you pay double for the Lamborghini Urus to secure a build slot?
Anything that is being hyped nowadays can be sold at double or triple the price, just because people know that no matter what the situation, it will still sell. And that is the case now with the LamborghiniUrus. It should be mentioned that this SUV will be made by the same company that built the really powerful Aventador SuperVeloce that boasts 740 horsepower, as well as the Centenario, and supercar icons like the Countach and Miura.
Under the hood of the Lamborghini Urus is a 4.0 liter biturbo V8 that carries out no less than 650 horsepower (484 kilowatts). And in only 3.6 seconds, it can reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a standstill and hit a top speed of 186 miles per hour (300 kilometers per hour). Overall, the four-seater SUV with a higher ground clearance also comes with supercar performance stats.
Apart from all that, no one knows what it feels like to be behind the wheel of the Urus, as it is unlike any other Lamborghini that we have seen out there. Having said all that, dealerships decided that they could likely mark up prices of the hyped up SUV.
For instance, there is a location in Germany that offers an early-build model of the Urus for 330,000 euros, when the model’s original price is only around 204,000 euros including tax. That is equivalent to around $400,000, which is twice the list price for the United States market. But even if you pay that premium for the early-build model, the earliest you could get a unit is five months from now.
With all that being said, you are probably wondering if it is actually worth getting one. Well, the Italia automaker believes that the super SUV will be a top-selling model worldwide. The company’s aim is to sell 3,500 units annually in 2019.
To be honest, even if the Urus is very expensive, we think that it would sell. But because dealerships are jacking up the prices, then we are starting to think that this goal may be difficult to reach, even if it is the best driving vehicle out there. We’re hopeful that it lives up to the hype but if it doesn’t, expect the prices to go down too. There will be road tests and then we’ll soon read the reviews from experts online.
For now, we just have to sit back and relax. And if the Lamborghini surpasses all of our expectations, then perhaps the demand for it will increase, which will also help Lamborghini reach their sales target. We will update you once we get new updates regarding this model.
