Honda Civic Type R is priced from £30,995 in the UK

When the Japanese automaker Honda debuted the 2017 Honda Civic Type R, global consumers then asked a very important question – how much will this majestic Civic cost? Honda has revealed the price tag of this recent release, but so far, only the official UK pricing info is available.
Honda Civic Type R recently set a new record for the fastest front wheel drive production car on the Nurbugring, clocking in a record setting lap time of 7:50.63. This swanky hatchback is scheduled to be rolled out to U.K dealers possibly in July. Produced in Britain specifically at the Swindon factory, the 2017 Civic Type R was displayed in March this year in production disguise at the Geneva Motor Show. It is targeted at providing the most rewarding cruise in its tier, regardless if you are driving on a public road or on a track.
The standard Civic Type R bears a price tag of £30,995, and its higher tier GT will require an additional £2,000 premium. You might be asking what would be the novelties that come with the additional cost. The Japanese automaker revealed that it will come with added standard goodies such as dual zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, improved sound system and LED front fog lights. However, the goodies don't end there, as the more expensive Civic GT variant also boasts of Honda Connect with Garmin Navigation and an auto dimming rear view mirror and cross traffic monitor.
Moreover, what really matters aside from the flashy aesthetics is what is under the hood of the new hatch. The 2017 Civic Type R is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0 L engine that powers up to 306 hp (228 kW) and 295 lb-ft (400 Newton-meters) of torque. The V-TEC's output is delivered directly to the front wheels via an improved 6 speed manual transmission built with shorter gear ratios. Honda revealed that many consumers are already interested in the Civic Type R and orders have already been taken, even though the potential buyers have not yet chanced to take the new hatch for a spin. Sold as a 5-door model, the Renault Megane RS adversary can be yours for £299 per month with a 3 year 5.9% contract for the standard version.
When it will be sold globally, the 2017 Civic Type R will go head to head against the Ford Fiesta ST and the VW Golf GTI. For UK consumers, the hot hatch offers a cheaper price tag compared to the £32,540  for the Ford Focus RS and its previous greatest rival which is the Volkswagen Golf R that costs around £31,885. In the US, pricing will start at an estimated $35,000 for the Touring variant, which will be considered the only trim level for the 2017MY. Possibly in 2018, a new entry level unit will be expected to join the lineage with a promised more affordable price tag.

PRICING ANNOUNCED FOR THE NEXT GENERATION HONDA CIVIC TYPE R

Honda UK has today announced pricing for the hotly-anticipated next generation Civic Type R. Set to hit retail forecourts in July, the entry level model will cost £30,995 and the GT version will cost an additional £2,000 at £32,995 on the road and will come with a host of extras.
PCP pricing has also been confirmed for the new car, which is built at Honda’s UK manufacturing plant in Swindon; with monthly payments in line with the current car and starting at £299 a month on a three year 5.9% contract for the entry level version of the new Civic Type R.
As with the outgoing model, GT drivers will benefit from blind spot information including cross traffic monitor, dual zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Honda CONNECT with Garmin Navigation, wireless charging, high power audio, and LED front fog lights.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2017 Civic Type R shares the same fundamentals as the new Civic hatchback and has been engineered from the ground up to deliver the most rewarding drive in the hot-hatch segment – both on road and on the race track.
The 2.0-litre VTEC TURBO of the previous generation Civic Type R has been optimised and refined to produce 320 PS with peak torque of 400 Nm, while the six-speed manual transmission is further improved by a rev match control system.
Phil Webb, Head of Cars at Honda UK, commented: “As with the previous generation, we are fully expecting a huge demand for the Civic Type R. The order bank is already open and we are experiencing strong interest off the back of the launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March – and this is before our customers have even taken a test drive.”
