Hennessey unleashes the new Exorcist Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Contacting Father Damien Karras, Hennessey’s new “Exorcist” Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is getting out of control! We already know that Dodge is well on its way to unwrap its very own SRT Demon Challenger. Not to be outdone, Hennessey is also out to steal the limelight with its very own---The Exorcist. The horror of all horrors!
Hennessey Performance Engineering has created a 1000hp monster out of the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1-- and even naming it after one of the “most profitable” horror movies ever made. But, way before Hennessey had cast its evil chants on the poor Camaro, the devilish muscle car already packs a strong 650hp and 650 lb ft-of torque. As if the Hellcats and SRT Demons aren’t good enough. Or should we say, “bad enough” for the hell’s standards.
With the new package, the 6.2-liter LT4 V8 receives a modified ECU, new larger intakes and an updated intercooler. Aside from the sufficiently large supercharger, Hennessey further enhanced the engine with long tube stainless steel headers, ported factory heads and high performance camshaft. Overall, this provides the LT4 with an extra 350hp and 316lb-ft of torque.
Adding more fuel to the fire, this wicked monster is married either to a 10-speed automatic transmission or the standard 6-speed manual. Either way, its powerful outburst is unleashed to the rear wheels, allowing the Exorcist to breakaway from 0- 60 miles per hour in 3 seconds and hit the quarter mile in less 10 seconds. Such a badass.
The ZL1 Exorcist alone already costs more than $117,000, but well, Hennessey is giving its customers more reasons to whip out more dosh. At least, Hennessey promises a 2-year, 24,000-mile warranty on those they had possessed with their magic spell.
Upgrading the 10-speed automatic gearbox as we know will require an additional $9,950. Now for folks who only want to avail the power upgrade, the Exorcist package comes with a $55,000 price tag.
Since the devil is in the details, get ready to pay another $8,995 to enjoy Hennessey’s Drag Pack. This comes with a new set of toolkit, floor jack, a new drive shaft and a pair of 20-inch wheels fitted with 315/30 Nitto drag radials. Alternatively, Hennessey offers its very own Road Race pack that includes a new set of 20-inch wheels wrapped with Michelin’s Pilot Sport Cup 2 high performance tires for $6,995.
That said, Hennessey will only produce a total of 100 Exorcists every year, which you can get straight from Hennessey’s tuning house in Houston Texas or at certain Chevrolet dealerships. We only don’t know if they’re giving away special discounts if your name is Regan. Otherwise, just blurt out “I’m not Regan” and see what they have to offer.

THE EXORCIST – HENNESSEY’S ANSWER TO THE DEMON

Hennessey Performance (HPE) introduces their newest super muscle car: THE EXORCIST TM. Based on the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the Hennessey team radically increased the Chevy’s LT4 V8 engine’s power to 1000 bhp @ 6,400 rpm and 966 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. Power is increased via a series of engine modifications, including a larger, higher flowing supercharger & intercooler system producing 14 psi of boost pressure. This system is mated with ported factory cylinder heads, camshaft upgrade, long-tube stainless steel headers, high-flow air induction system and custom engine management calibration. THE EXORCIST TM is available for both 6-speed manual and 10-speed automatic equipped ZL1 Camaro’s.
“Equipped with rear drag radial tires, The Exorcist will deliver 0-60 mph times under 3 seconds while running the ¼ mile in less than 10 seconds,” said company founder and president, John Hennessey. “However, THE EXORCIST TM is not just a ¼ mile racer. It’s a well-rounded super muscle car that is just as happy on a road course as it is on the dragstrip and street. Needless to say, this will leave the competition’s heads spinning.”
THE EXORCIST TM is available as a new turnkey vehicle from Hennessey and can also be ordered directly from Chevrolet dealers. ZL1 Camaro owners can also send their vehicles to HPE for the conversion. The base cost for THE EXORCIST upgrade, including the 1000 hp engine upgrade and graphics is $55,000 and includes a limited 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty. Automatic equipped vehicles will require an upgraded transmission at the cost of $9,950. The optional drag pack includes a pair of 20 inch wheels with 315/30-20 Nitto drag radial tires, drive shaft upgrade, floor jack and tool kit at the cost of $8,995. The optional road race pack includes a set of 20 inch light weight Hennessey wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires at the cost of $6,995.
THE EXORCIST TM also includes optional delivery at Hennessey’s own ¼ mile dragstrip – Lonestar Motorsports Park – located next to the company’s workshop which is located an hour west of Houston, Texas. Just 100 units of the THE EXORCIST will be produced per model year. THE EXORCIST TMwill make its public debut at the Houston Auto Show on Wednesday, April 5.
