LUMMA CLR GT shows its forest green wide body kit for Range Rover Velar

Just a month after the Range Rover Velar’s debut at the Geneva Auto Show, photos of the said model have been circulating around the internet, with a wider body and a Lumma Design logo.

The Range Rover Velar originally had a clean, minimalist design. But now with an integrated rear spoiler, flush door handles, striking proportions, and a foil stamped grille on its face, it offers a distinctive look.

Lumma Design, a German company founded in 1987 that specializes in tuning vehicles, got their hands on a Velar and decided to give the vehicle some tweaks here and there. The company initially gave the Velar a digital makeover, before building the actual thing. And now that it’s out, people seem to be digging the new design by Lumma.

They call it the Lumma CLR GT Limited Edition. The new Range Rover shows off its wide body kit, painted in a shiny forest green exterior, giving it a more unique overall look. The original Range Rover logo has been removed and now spells “Lumma CLR GT”. This project is a celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary.

To give contrast to the forest green finish, Lumma Design designed a set of custom-made wheels for the Range Rover. Alongside that are carbon fiber finished hood vents and side vents with a pronounced grill and matching carbon fiber fascia. The jet black painted roof completes the look of the Velar. This looks like the perfect car for Green Lantern.

Now, let us get to the rear of the car. Apart from the quad exhaust tips they included, Lumma Design added a carbon fiber rear diffuser, as well as a carbon fiber spoiler to add more accents to the Range Rover.

As for the interior, it was not mentioned that Lumma Design added more features, so it probably stays the same. That means that it has two ten-inch touchscreens with improved functionality and shorter reaction times, and a Head-Up Display.

They didn’t mention anything about the engine so it probably has one of the three options the company offers: a turbocharged 2.0 liter gas inline-four with a 247 horsepower, a supercharged 380 horsepower 3.0 liter V6, and a 180 horsepower diesel 2.0 liter Ingenium four. With the V6 under the hood, the Velar can go from zero to 60 in 5.3 seconds, with a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

We expect the standard Range Rover Velar to be in showrooms by summer 2017 starting at $50,895 in the United States. A complete Range Rover Sport package can cost up to $103,265. But this special edition by Lumma Design has no price tag yet.

LUMMA CLR GT Range Rover Velar

Launched at the recent Geneva Motor Show, the Range Rover Velar slots in between the Evoque and Range Rover Sport. The fourth and sportiest model Range Rover variant is sure to ensure many conquest sales. The process of translating this design concept into reality will take until the end of 2017 when the production LUMMA CLR GT will be available as a limited edition 30th Anniversary model that is sure to sell out quickly.

The exterior design of Range Rover’s latest premium SUV takes the established design motifs to new heights. The distinctive proportions of a blunt nose with strongly etched radiator grille, squat falling roofline, retractable door handles and integrated rear spoiler, are applied to a new bodyshell with very clean surfaces devoid of crease lines. LUMMA Design’s Widebody conversion gives the new sporty Range Rover SUV an extra dose of self-confidence. The conversion begins at the front, where the distinctive front spoiler and mesh inserts give the car a more aggressive face.
