Ferrari 250 takes on a Neo Retro Design under the direction of Spain-based artist
There are people who are blessed with so much talent that you question yourself how it could be contained in one person. There are automotive enthusiasts with talent coursing through their blood, showcasing these gifts through hobbies and sometimes, they even make a living off it. There are those who have a special skill for tinkering things like radio control cars. It’s possible that this person would soon be who everyone in the local car scene goes to when they’re in dire need for detailing tips or sick vinyl graphics. Then of course, there are those who enjoy doodling car designs – who doesn’t love doodling, right?
There’s this guy from Barcelona, Spain named Slimane Toubal who’s obviously got mad doodling talents. Well, we couldn’t really call his works “doodles” since it’s far more advanced and intricate than that. There’s not much that we know about this guy but he’s sure got quite an eye for art especially when it comes to photography and automotive design. This extremely talented guy released his latest personal project which revolves around Ferraris. Yes, you read that right. Toubal has created one of the most majestic renditions of this sports car legend. And we’re hoping he isn’t in this field just for fun because we’re in desperate need for his genius.
Toubal draws inspiration from past Ferrari models, creating three stunning future Ferrari concepts that will leave you slack-jawed. We must say, his creation does look crazy but in a good way. No, scratch that, we mean it looks CRAZY GOOD. His works represent three different interpretations of a Ferrari 250 – the hardtop California, the spider Malibu, and true to its Ferrari roots, he created this no-nonsense track edition and competition variant that is the Daytona. His works are found in his website.
For him, the 1960s was “the best decade for automotive design” and taking inspiration from the Ferrari’s of this period, Toubal created what he calls the “Neo Retro Design”, sharing to us his vision of the iconic Ferrari 250. In general, the concepts have “thoroughly” futuristic designs but with a classic touch brought to you by the lights integrated in its chrome grille and its “knockoff” wheels. The hardtop variants have a side glass with mini gull-wing doors which add to its peculiar design, something you’d expect from a futuristic design. Of course, Toubal uses the official Ferrari colors – red and yellow – as well as black and green (which he says is a “reflection for the electric version” and green, the color of the year).
Just like the rest of us, Toubal recognizes the greatness of Ferrari. His stunning Ferrari concepts are his way of paying tribute to the Italian automaker. Take for instance, this “My Ferrari” (his take on Ferrari’s “La Ferrari”).
Hopefully, the Italian automaker sees these wonderful renditions and would consider adding a few retro cues on future models as has been portrayed in Slimane Toubal’s brilliant work of art.
