2019 Renault Clio (5th gen) will come to the 2018 Paris Motor Show this September

Renault’s fourth generation Clio model has been around since 2012. In fact, it is one of the oldest supermini cars in its segment. But later on this year, the automaker will finally introduce the fifth generation of the said model.
According to a report by Auto Express, the French automaker will reveal the next generation Clio at the 2018 Paris Auto Show during the third quarter of the year. The debut will be scheduled months before its scheduled sale date in 2019, and it will be an enhanced version of the fourth generation model. It will share design elements with the Symbioz Concept, as well as with the larger Megane.
In addition, the 2019 Clio will get the C-shaped headlights - just like that of the Megane and Talisman. And expect the cabin to get a major makeover, thanks to the designers and engineers that decided to completely change its looks. This will include the brand’s portrait style tablet that can control the car’s infotainment system.
Adding to that, Laurens van den Acker, Renault’s design boss promised that the 2019 Renault Clio will be made with higher quality materials to give it a more premium and elegant feel.
The next Clio will be based on the CMF-B architecture, but will be given some modifications. Not only will this keep production costs lower, this also gives it access to a variety of petrol engines. These include the turbocharged 0.9 liter three cylinder, together with the new 1.3 liter unit.
So far, the French automaker has not decided whether or not any dCi diesel mills are going to make their way into the car. They are still weighing the pros and cons because of the fact that most automakers are veering from oil burners.
What’s certain for the Renault Clio though is the 48V hybrid technology that will be paired with a small petrol engine. This will have lower emissions as well as improved fuel consumption. We’ve also learned that the automaker will not be considering a plug in hybrid variant.
Because the French automaker is looking into electrifying their future, expect to see models like the Zoe in the next few years.
Another thing that the 2019 Renault Clio will feature is the semi-autonomous driving function. This lets the supermini car steer, accelerate, and brake on its own when necessary. Having said that, the car is still not capable of driving itself so the driver still has to keep the hands on the steering wheel at all times.
