Aston Martin Vantage Roadster widebody kit by ACR Performance
Aston Martin has always been able to seamlessly mix elegance and performance, akin to how speed and luxury in its cars go so well together. In recent years however, the British manufacturer of luxury sports cars and grand tourers has ostensibly developed a different taste particularly after it came up with the Vantage V8.
Speaking of which, Aston Martin’s racing division has just showcased a wide-bodied Vantage Roadster on a new video. Together with another wide-bodied Aston Martin, the red coupe wears the latest wide body kit by ACR Performance. For those who can still recall, the duo was first seen at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon in January.
The roadster on the video is featuring a GT3-specced diffuser and Vossen’s Forged VWS-2 set of wheels while the Aston Martin Vantage next to it has Vossen’s VPS-315T. ACR, or Alpha Classics Racing, is the British marque’s performance specialist that has built its own racing programme in Japan. Needless to say, the Japanese have always had exceptional taste when it comes to tuning as we can clearly see on the video.
The Vantage Roadster is equipped with the ACR Performance wide body package which includes a custom boot lid spoiler, side skirts and carbon fiber diffuser designed for racing. It also sits on Vossen’s X-Work Series in Matte Gunmetal finish measuring 20 inches wide. To keep those wheels grounded on the road as well as support good handling, this Aston Martin Vantage coupe now comes with Airrex suspension.
Aside from the racing specified suspension and brakes, the coupe is also fitted with a roll cage to match the V8’s 600 hp output. As a whole, the carbon fiber elements and dark colored wheels make a perfect combination both to the interior’s red theme and the exterior’s red metallic paint.
In the previous years, the Tokyo-based tuning specialists have done really well in customizing and selling used classics as well as the latest models from Aston Martin. It came to a point when they finally realized that it’s about time to make a new brand that they can offer exclusively to Aston owners who want something different.
ACR’s product line introduces an aero package with carbon elements at the front and sides while the rear section is enhanced with a spoiler and a GT-type diffuser. The same aero package applies to the drop-top version which looks more impressive when fitted with a wider set of wheels.
