Nissan to donate one-off GT-R Predzilla to NHL team’s foundation
Nissan this week made an announcement that it will be donating a customized 2017 Nissan GT-Rto NHL team’s charity. Wearing the Nashville Predators’ official colors, the GT-R Premium-based model is sure to catch attention during the NHL team’s fundraising event. The new Nissan GT-R Premium (R35) or Predzilla has a price of $109,990 but is expected to fetch beyond that amount during the auction. The fundraiser started on Monday and will continue up to the end of October.

Current bid price as of this writing is at $61,750 with 18 registered bidders and counting. Back in 2012, Nissan auctioned another one-off GTR for the Usain Bolt Foundation raising a total of $193,191. The winner this year will not only take home the brand new GT-R but will also get a couple of tickets for the 2017-2018 season including Sixth Avenue Garage’s parking pass.
The Nashville Predators is the 27th team in the National Hockey League which was founded in 1998. Every season, the team works hard to attain its goal in becoming a Stanley Cup Champion. The Nashville Predators Foundation meanwhile counts as among the most active charities in the Nashville community. Every year, the foundation makes a $100,000 donation to MEND while having just granted $500,000 worth of contributions to 120 community service and charitable institutions. In addition, the 365 Fund will hand over an approximate amount of $400,000 for pediatric cancer treatment and research via Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
By winning the bid, the car will not only become the envy in all Smashville community but will also benefit a lot of charitable and community service organizations, Sean Henry, Predators President and CEO said.
The Nissan GT-R Premium features an all-wheel drive system, a dual clutch 6-speed gearbox and a titanium exhaust. Powered by a 565hp and 467lb-ft of torque 3.8-liter V6 engine, this entry level trim serves as the GT-R Predizilla’s base model.
Other than the premium grade, the Nissan GTR is available in Nismo version at $174,990. It comes with upgraded features including Recaro seats, an aerodynamic kit plus a more powerful 600-hp engine. All GTR engines are assembled manually by Takumi technicians, a specially trained team that uses the same process in constructing a racing power plant.

Nissan today announced the donation of a specially created 2017 Nissan GT-R supercar to the Nashville Predators Foundation, which supports a variety of local Nashville charities. The $109,990 GT-R Premium model is custom-painted in Preds’ official colors and graphics. The special Nissan GT-R will be the main attraction in an upcoming Predators Foundation fundraising auction that was also announced today.

The 365 Fund will present approximately $400,000 to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt for pediatric cancer treatment and research. The Nashville Predators Foundation makes an annual $100,000 contribution to MEND, an organization committed to ending violence against women. Also, the Predators Foundation funds and Predators staff builds an annual KABOOM! playground at an area school or community center.

The 2017 Nissan GT-R Premium features a 565-horsepower twin-turbo VR38DETT 3.8-liter V6 engine with 467 lb.-ft. of torque and a titanium exhaust system. All GT-R engines are hand-assembled by specially trained technicians known as Takumi, a process similar to that used to construct racing powerplants. The engine is backed by an advanced paddle-shifted sequential 6-speed dual clutch transmission and unique independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel-drive system.
