2018 Renault Koleos Initiale Paris is now available in the UK
Around a year ago, Renault expanded the Koleos family, starting with the range-topping Initiale Paris. It first made its debut in 2016 during the Paris Motor Show. And today, customers in the UK can now get their hands on them.
The Initiale Paris is offered with a starting price of £36,700 ($49,552) OTR. Deliveries for the said model will begin this spring. Dressed in an exclusive body colour, Amethyst, the SUV also gets a new exterior badging, 19” two tone alloys, and full LED headlights.
As you enter the cabin of the Renault Koleos Initiale Paris, you will no doubt appreciate its heated and ventilated front seats, two-tone Nappa leather interior, heated and cooled front cup holders, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, R-Link2 infotainment system with an 8.7” display, 13-speaker Bose sound system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay compatibility, Tom-Tom built in satellite navigation, and an automatic tailgate with key card or sensor for hands-free opening.
As for the safety features, the Initiale Paris comes standard with advanced emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition with over speed prevention, as well as hill start assist. That’s not all, as it will also be equipped with parking sensors on both sides, reversing camera, ESC with traction and understeer control, speed limiter, cruise control with speed limited function, and the electrochromatic rearview mirror.
Of course, it’s never a good idea to skip discussing the powertrain of the Renault Koleos Initiale Paris. What powers it is a 2.0 liter dCi four cylinder diesel engine that carries out 177 PS (175 horsepower) and 380 Newton metres (280 pound feet) of torque. This is paired to a 7 speed Auto X Tronic transmission that gives power to the four wheel drive, which is standard. It can easily do the zero to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) sprint in just 9.5 seconds, just before hitting its top speed of 125 miles per hour (201 kilometers per hour).
The Renault Koleos Initiale Paris takes over the place of the Signature Nav (£34,200), which was once the highest spec Koleos.
For comparison’s sake, the Renault Koleos Initiale Paris actually costs less than a top-spec Nissan X-Trail (around £800 less), and both of them sit on the same platform and are equipped with the same powertrain. It is also £3,745 cheaper than the Ford Edge Vignale, which delivers 178 bhp of output. It also comes out as more affordable compared to the range-topping Skoda Kodiaq (£420 less).
As mentioned earlier, customers in the UK can already get their hands on this model, but deliveries will not begin until spring.
